Børresen's cheapest speaker, and the one that made the rest of the range legible: the same RP89 ribbon planar tweeter and the same design language as the six-figure M series, in a cabinet a fifth of the size and a fraction of the price. The compromise is in the motor — the X-series DCC5 driver keeps the sandwich cone of spread-tow carbon fibre over an aramid honeycomb, and the double copper caps that flatten the inductance curve, but drops the ironless magnet system that makes the M and Z cost what they do. Rear-ported, 86 dB, and happy on 50 watts. The matching stand is a separate purchase; the dimensions here are the cabinet alone. Black or white piano lacquer.
