English maker founded in 1947 by Jim Rogers and one of the handful of firms the BBC licensed to build its monitor designs — most famously the LS3/5A, which from the early 1970s was made under licence by Rogers, Chartwell, Audiomaster, Spendor and Harbeth, and which between them ran to tens of thousands of pairs. The company passed through several owners and a receivership before being revived as Rogers International UK, which still builds the BBC designs by hand in England to the original specifications: thin-wall damped birch plywood cabinets, hand-soldered crossovers, and pairs matched by measurement with the results kept against the serial number so a driver can be replaced years later.
