German loudspeaker maker founded in 1973 in Cologne by Rainer Haas, whose father had imported Goodmans speakers in the 1960s — a German-only model sold as the "Goodmans Magnat" did well enough that Haas put his own name on the next one. The 1970s and 80s were its inventive stretch: an omnidirectional plasma tweeter with no diaphragm at all in 1979, the All-Ribbon series in 1981, the first car-audio system in 1983. Based in Pulheim outside Cologne since 1993, and now part of Premium Audio Company alongside Klipsch, Jamo and its sister brand Heco.
