Japan· Founded in 1946

Japanese giant founded in Tokyo in 1946, and the only name in this catalog better known for everything else it makes. Its hi-fi credentials are real enough — the first CD player, the Walkman, the ES line that still runs — but the CS series sits at the opposite end: entry-level home-theatre speakers sold in pairs for the price of one cable from most of the brands here. The 2025 M2 refresh keeps the formula the originals were known for, a three-way with a 19 mm super tweeter carrying response nominally to 50 kHz, in a cabinet that costs less than the stands other makers would ask you to put it on.

The catalog ranges from the SS-CS5 M2 at 33.5 cm up to the SS-CS3 M2 at 92.1 cm — compare any two side by side at true scale.
