Danish maker founded on 21 February 2008 in Herlev, outside Copenhagen, by Kresten Dinesen, Rasmus Holm and Frederik Johansen — three people who had spent years running development, production and sales at other Danish high-end companies before deciding to do it their own way. Their stated argument at the start was that the industry had confused ugliness with seriousness, and that good design costs no more to make than bad design, which is why the amplifiers and the speakers look like they were drawn by the same hand. It is unusually complete for its size: source, amplification and loudspeakers all made in-house, with the cabinets laminated rather than simply thickened, the drivers developed with Danish transducer engineers instead of bought from a catalogue, and the crossovers assembled and measured in Herlev. In 2025 the company launched the CLC65 under a second name, Copenhagen Loudspeaker Company.
