Trio10

Product description
The Trio15 idea shrunk to fit a normal room: same three bolted-together baffle modules, same nothing-behind-them dipole, but 10-inch woofers instead of 15s and a panel that stops at 98 cm rather than 1.16 m. The two bass drivers are Morel MW1075s reworked for PureAudioProject — a damped polymer cone on a 3-inch aluminium voice coil, chosen because a driver meant for a box has to be re-tuned before it will work with its back wave in the room. Above them sits a Heil air-motion transformer, crossed over at about 700 Hz by a first-order series network on exposed gold terminals, so the parts can be changed by ear. 88 dB and 8 ohms is a full step less sensitive than the 15-inch models, so this is the one in the range that wants real amplifier power rather than a few valve watts. Baffles come in HDF, three-layer bamboo or German oak; it ships flat-packed and you build it yourself, and it still needs 60 to 120 cm of clear air behind the panel.
