The DM80 shrunk by five centimetres and one driver size: same cabinet width and depth, same four 5.25-inch BDSS mid/basses and two aluminium-oxide domes in the bipolar layout, but a 10-inch powered woofer with two 10-inch passive radiators instead of twelves. The amplifier is where the two really part company — 180 watts of class D with DSP here against the flagship's 415 W GaNFET — and the -3 dB point moves from 28 Hz to 30, which is less than the amplifier gap suggests. The mid/treble half stays passive at 4 ohms and 90 dB, wanting 50 to 300 watts from your own amp, and the rear tweeter still has its 0/-6 dB switch. $1,699 each.
