Dynaudio brought the 2012 Platinum back one last time in September 2026, built in Skanderborg from the original engineering drawings by many of the same people who made the first run — 405 parts across sixteen stages, up to 28 coats of clear primer under five of high-gloss lacquer, each stage sanded after sixteen hours of hardening and then sixteen to twenty hours of polishing. The acoustic idea is DDC: eight drivers mirrored up a 40 mm machined aluminium baffle so the array's vertical directivity is controlled, which Dynaudio says removes up to 75% of the room's influence. Two Esotar2 tweeters, two 150 mm midranges and four 180 mm woofers, first-order throughout, on a crossover isolated in its own thermally and mechanically separated compartment. Nominally a three-way; the spec sheet writes it as 3(5)-way because there are extra transitions at 290 Hz and 8.5 kHz inside the mirrored array. 1.94 m, 110 kg, 28 Hz. Each pair is numbered on a rear plaque, installed by a Dynaudio specialist and delivered with a letter signed by the people who built it.
