Mingus Septet

Launched at Munich in 2023 as the Mingus Orchestra's living-room-sized answer: four different membrane materials in one column, each doing only what it is best at. A 25 mm diamond dome above 6 kHz, a 76 mm beryllium dome from 800 Hz up, a 178 mm ceramic cone from 200, and two 203 mm aluminium-honeycomb woofers below that — four ways, and every handover first-order. On the back there are two 254 mm aluminium passive radiators instead of a port, which is what lets a 46 cm-deep cabinet reach 23 Hz without a vent to chuff. The name counts the drivers: five on the front and two on the back. It is the hardest load in the Mingus range at 4 ohms nominal and 2.7 minimum, and 95 kg per side of 25–40 mm fibreboard laminate in piano black with solid-wood top and bottom.
