Parker Quintet

The top of the Parker series: four 190 mm ceramic cones in a column under the 25 mm ceramic dome, and four 229 mm aluminium passive radiators on the back doing the work a port would. No extra height over the Parker Trio — both stand 1.17 m — but the cabinet goes to 54 cm deep and 33 cm across at its widest, and the weight nearly doubles to 60 kg. What the extra cones buy is headroom rather than reach: 24 Hz against the Trio's 26, but 93 dB of sensitivity, the highest in the range, at the cost of dropping to a 4-ohm nominal load with a 2.7-ohm minimum. Still 2.5-way, still crossed at 2.2 kHz in Marten's multi-diverse order, still 35 mm M-board with tapered sides on a mirror-polished stainless base. The ceramic tweeter can be ordered as pure diamond, which also brings copper-foil capacitors and Jorma's Statement cabling.
