Ratio Auream

A 32 cm standmount built around a refusal to economise: a Scan-Speak beryllium dome and a 5.5-inch SB Acoustics cone in a double-walled cabinet with a damping layer between the two skins, a 24 dB crossover using tin foil in the treble, solid copper internal wiring and Cardas Rhodium terminals. The front baffle is proportioned to the golden ratio, which is where the Latin name comes from, and a felt surround around the tweeter suppresses baffle reflections. At 83 dB into 4 Ω it is not an easy load in sensitivity terms, though the impedance stays flat enough that a 30 W amplifier drives it to 100 dB. Real walnut veneer. Sold as a pair.
