A 29 kg stand-mount with a 14 cm CST coaxial in it — the full-size one from the Reference line, not the 9 cm version the Evolution floorstanders use, which is why the midrange hands over to the 35 mm beryllium dome as low as 1.8 kHz and the top end is quoted to 100 kHz. Below it a single 180 mm woofer with a MACS II diaphragm: five laminated layers of woven and non-woven aramid formed into a shell that merges the cone and the dust cap into one piece. The bass ports are slots cut into the left and right side panels, flared open at both the front and the rear, so the two openings cancel each other's reaction and internal standing waves have nowhere to leak. 85 dB into 4 ohms is genuinely insensitive — this is a small speaker that wants a large amplifier. Mirror-polished wood grain or piano black, hand-finished; the matching TAD-ST2TX stand is a separate purchase.
