Evolution One AX

The 2025 replacement for the Evolution One TX, and on paper almost the same speaker: two 160 mm aramid woofers under a CST coaxial, 29 Hz to 60 kHz, crossed at 420 Hz and 2.5 kHz, 88 dB into 4 ohms. What changed is underneath. The cabinet lost 7 cm of height and gained 8 kg, and the tweeter is now the vapour-deposited beryllium dome from the R1TX rather than the old one, sitting in the acoustic centre of a 90 mm magnesium midrange — TAD's point-source idea scaled down from the 14 cm CST in the Reference line. The woofers use a MACC cone, woven and non-woven aramid laminated together. The port is a bidirectional ADP at the base of the enclosure with flared openings facing both front and back, so the reaction forces cancel instead of shaking the box, and a 10 mm machined steel plate underneath holds it still. Black, or a new glossy white.
