German loudspeaker culture is measurement-first and heavily professional. The country's broadcast-standards tradition produced a studio and monitoring sector that still sets reference points for the rest of the industry, and its engineering schools feed a high-end scene comfortable with DSP, active designs and horn loading in equal measure. Munich is also the industry's centre of gravity: the annual HIGH END show there is the largest gathering of its kind in the world, and it is where most of the year's launches happen.
